RFP Scoring Matrix
SkillSkill
Build a weighted vendor evaluation matrix from your requirements doc, score each proposal criterion by criterion, and get a ranked comparison table and exec brief — before Friday.
About
Manual RFP scoring in a spreadsheet is how vendor decisions go wrong.
RFP Scoring Matrix is an OpenClaw skill that replaces the spreadsheet with a five-script evaluation pipeline. Feed it your requirements doc and vendor proposals; it builds a weighted criteria rubric, scores each vendor against every criterion with cited rationale, renders a side-by-side comparison matrix, drafts clarification questions for ambiguous answers, and produces a 1-page executive recommendation brief with a 30/60/90-day onboarding outline.
What it does
- Builds a weighted scoring rubric from your requirements doc — or seeds from a pre-built template for CRM, helpdesk, BI, payroll, MDM, or dev tools, then merges your specific requirements in
- Scores each vendor proposal 0–5 per criterion with a one-line rationale and a dealbreaker flag for criteria not addressed at all
- Renders a side-by-side markdown matrix with category groupings, weighted totals, and a gap analysis for low-scoring criteria
- Drafts category-aware clarification questions for vendors with vague or hedged answers
- Produces a 1-page exec recommendation brief with top 2 vendors, strengths, risks, and a 30/60/90 onboarding outline
What's in the package
All files listed below are bundled as fenced code blocks inside SKILL.md — there's no separate folder to install. Copy each code block into its own file using the path shown above it.
- SKILL.md — the full five-step evaluation workflow your agent follows.
- scripts/build_criteria.py — parses requirements and outputs a weighted criteria YAML. Use
--templateto seed from pre-built sets. - scripts/score_vendor.py — scores one vendor proposal against the criteria YAML and outputs structured JSON.
- scripts/render_matrix.py — renders all scored vendors as a side-by-side markdown comparison with totals and gaps.
- scripts/draft_questions.py — generates clarification questions for ambiguously-scored vendors.
- scripts/exec_brief.py — renders a 1-page exec recommendation brief with 30/60/90 onboarding outline.
- data/criteria-templates.yaml — pre-built criteria sets for six common categories: CRM, helpdesk, BI, payroll, MDM, dev tools.
- scripts/examples/ — sample requirements doc, two vendor proposals, and all expected outputs so you can verify the pipeline works on install.
