Competitor Teardown Runner is an OpenClaw skill that fetches public signals from competitor homepages and pricing pages, structures them across consistent axes, and identifies five specific gaps in the competitive landscape you can act on. No more 30-minute browse sessions that produce a vague sense of similarity — this produces a working doc.

What it does

• Fetches each competitor's homepage and pricing page and extracts positioning language, primary CTAs, pricing signals, and repeating keyword patterns
• Renders a side-by-side comparison across positioning clarity, pricing transparency, free-tier availability, CTA friction, and enterprise orientation
• Surfaces five concrete, actionable gaps in the competitive set — pricing model opportunities, CTA friction plays, positioning differentiation angles, and unowned keyword territory
• Generates a 1-page executive summary table plus a full per-competitor deep dive with homepage text preview
• Works in name-only mode (no URL required) for private, paywalled, or manual-review competitors

What's in the package

All files listed below are bundled as fenced code blocks inside SKILL.md — there's no separate folder to install. Copy each code block into its own file using the path shown above it.

• SKILL.md — the full workflow from URL input to gap analysis and next steps.
• scripts/scrape_signals.py — fetches public homepage and pricing page signals and structures them into a JSON record per competitor. Degrades gracefully on fetch failures.
• scripts/render_teardown.py — renders the full teardown document from a signals JSON, including at-a-glance table, per-competitor dives, side-by-side comparison, gap analysis, and next-steps checklist.
• scripts/examples/ — sample signals JSON (3 competitors) and a complete sample teardown document so you can see the output format before running it on real competitors.

How it ships

Drop SKILL.md into ~/.openclaw/skills/competitor-teardown-runner/. Restart OpenClaw. Run /competitor-teardown-runner or describe what you need — your agent picks it up.
