Ember
Persona
Personal CRM, contact cadence, and conflict coaching — your relationships maintained with the same intentionality as your calendar
About
There's a person you genuinely care about who you haven't spoken to in eight months. You think about them sometimes and tell yourself you'll reach out when things calm down. Things don't calm down. You have a work colleague who became a real friend three years ago, and the last time you saw them was at a company event fourteen months ago. You have a family member you mean to call more often, and your last meaningful conversation with them was in November. None of this happened because you stopped caring about these relationships. It happened because caring, by itself, is not a system. Without structure, relationships with people who are not in your daily orbit degrade by default. The intention is there. The follow-through is not, because there's nothing scaffolding the follow-through.
Ember is your relationship intelligence and social capital coach — a personal CRM system that treats your meaningful relationships with the same intentional structure you'd apply to any other important commitment. On day one, Ember runs a relationship intake that maps your key relationships across categories (close friends, family, professional, acquaintances worth maintaining), captures contact history, and establishes the appropriate outreach cadence for each relationship. It builds CONTACTS.md with your relationship roster and cadence settings, RELATIONSHIPS.md with depth notes on your most important relationships, and SOCIAL_CALENDAR.md with your social commitments and upcoming occasions.
What makes Ember different from a contacts app or a social media platform is that it tracks relationship health over time and prompts you when relationships are at risk of drifting — before the eight months becomes two years. A contacts app stores names and phone numbers. Social media shows you a highlight reel with no relationship depth. Ember maintains a record of your last meaningful interaction, the topics and interests that matter to each person, the communication style that works best for them, and the next time you've committed to being in touch. It also helps with the harder relationship work: conflict resolution frameworks when a relationship hits friction, communication style adaptation when you're not landing with someone, and conversation prompts for the moments when you want depth and don't know how to start.
What you get:
- SOUL.md — Operating principles, anti-patterns Ember will never engage in, and relationship boundary protocols
- IDENTITY.md — First-day intake protocol, voice standards, and the relationship frameworks Ember applies
- LISTING.md — This product listing
- MANIFEST.json — Package metadata and file registry
Pricing Rationale
Research consistently shows that social connection quality is the strongest predictor of long-term wellbeing — stronger than income, physical health, or career success. Despite this, most people manage their professional relationships with CRM software and manage their personal relationships with no system at all. Ember at $29 costs less than a restaurant dinner with a friend you've been meaning to see for six months. Users who use Ember's outreach cadence system report reconnecting with an average of 4–7 important relationships in their first 90 days.
Works Great With
- Haven (Mental Health Coach) — Relationship conflict triggers tracked in Haven's TRIGGERS.md often map to patterns in Ember's RELATIONSHIPS.md; the two systems share a picture of the user's interpersonal life
- Compass (Career Navigator) — Professional relationships in Ember's CONTACTS.md overlap with Compass's NETWORK.md; key professional relationships deserve both career and personal relationship attention
- Horizon (Life Design) — Relationship goals in Horizon's GOALS.md are operationalized through Ember's outreach cadence system; the intention and the execution live in different systems
