OpenClaw's memory system is append-only. It grows until search degrades. Then compaction runs and silently summarizes away the corrections you spent weeks establishing. Your agent starts forgetting your name. Forgetting that you hate formal language. Forgetting the standing rule you added in January. This is not a bug you can file. It is the architecture.

The Memory Manager fixes it.

It categorizes every memory entry into preferences, identity, facts, context, and instructions. It finds duplicates and contradictions and resolves them with you. It flags critical preferences for compaction protection so they survive the next summarization cycle. It runs monthly drift checks, comparing current agent behavior against established preferences, and surfaces divergence before you notice it yourself.

MEMORY_MAP.md becomes the organized index of everything your agent knows. Not a raw dump. A curated, categorized map you can audit.
