Git Archaeologist: Full Program Edition
Security & Forensics Engineer
Find secrets committed to git: full history scan for API keys and tokens, TODO aging, persistent findings log
About
The free Git Archaeologist skill excavates your git history. The Full Program Edition connects what it finds to something you can actually act on.
Most teams run a git secrets scan once, get a list of findings, and do nothing with them. Three months later they run it again, get the same list, and do nothing again. The Full Program Edition breaks that cycle by writing findings directly into a persistent FINDINGS.md log, integrating with Greyline: Warden's program ledger, and generating a rotation checklist for every credential it finds in history.
The Full Program Edition also adds a scheduled archaeology mode: your agent runs the full scan on a configurable cadence (weekly, monthly, or after every deploy), compares against the previous run, and flags only what is new. No re-reading findings you already know about.
::What's Included::
-
The full SKILL.md with all six archaeology procedures
-
FINDINGS.md template with structured fields for tracking each finding through triage, remediation, and close
-
Integration instructions for Greyline: Warden (writes directly to WARDEN_LOG.md using WRD-YYYY-NNN format)
-
Rotation checklist generator for any credential found in history (one checklist per secret pattern class, customizable by provider)
-
Scheduled scan instructions for running the full excavation on a cadence using Claude Code's cron scheduling
-
Delta mode that compares the current scan against the last scan and surfaces only new findings
-
START-HERE.md with setup instructions for OpenClaw, Claude Code, and Claude Desktop
::Who This Is For::
Engineering teams who ship fast and do not have time for manual security archaeology. Operators running Greyline: Warden who want findings fed into the program automatically. Founders doing a first-ever secrets audit on a codebase that has been moving too fast to be careful.
