Competitor Intel Brief
SkillSkill
20-minute competitive teardown. Positioning gaps, moat score, and where to attack.
About
Vague competitive research is worse than none — it makes you feel informed without actually being useful.
This skill runs a structured competitive teardown in 20 minutes. Six sections. Evidence-first methodology. Every finding needs a specific signal — no fabrication, no guessing. Output is pitch-deck ready without editing.
Here's a sample output snippet (Vulnerability Map section):
Competitor: [Company Name]
Vulnerability 1: Complexity creep ❌ Signal: Top 3 community support requests — "how do I organize this," "I have 200 pages and can't find anything," "it's too flexible, I need structure." Their core strength (flexibility) is becoming a weakness for users who don't know what they need. Exploit language: "Structure that thinks for you — not a blank canvas you have to figure out."
Vulnerability 2: B2B positioning gap Signal: 90% of their case studies show small teams. Enterprise page mentions "security" but no SOC2 badge. Sales team is SMB-focused. Exploit language: "Enterprise-ready from day one" — attack the gap they haven't filled yet.
That's 2 of 3 vulnerabilities. You get all 6 sections.
You get:
- Positioning Snapshot: ICP, headline, tone fingerprint
- Offer & pricing analysis: what they sell, what's missing, what pricing signals
- Content & channel fingerprint: where they publish, what they avoid
- Moat assessment using Helmer's 7 Powers with durability score (1–10)
- 3-gap Vulnerability Map with specific evidence and exploit language
- Attack Brief: where to show up, what to say, what to do this week
- Quarterly re-audit protocol to track competitor movements over time
